CHARLOTTE (AP) — Charlotte City Council will consider an incentive package next week for an expansion plan by snack-maker Snyder’s-Lance.
The Charlotte Observer reported (http://bit.ly/2gthbYH) Snyder’s-Lance plans to expand its Charlotte manufacturing operations and add a “new brand” to local production.
The expansion is expected to add 130 workers in Charlotte over the next five years.
City Council will consider a package of about $630,000 on Monday. Mecklenburg County is offering just over $1 million worth of incentives to the Charlotte company. The state of North Carolina is offering $230,000, including community college training funds.
Snyder’s-Lance will invest $38 million in its local facilities.
The jobs have an average annual wage of $45,000.
Thirty new employees will work in the company’s offices. The other 100 employees will work at expanded production facilities.
