Red Springs Police hope to find new information on a case of copper wire theft. In September of 2008 someone stole the copper wiring from a construction site on East Third Avenue in Red Springs where apartments for Providence Place were being built. The thieves caused a total of $30,000 in damages. On November 21, thieves hit the construction site again stripping the site of copper wiring. They estimate thieves caused another $30,000 in total damage.
