Mrs. Mabel S. Blue, 84, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, in Carrol S. Roberson Hospice Center in Fayetteville.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at Galatia Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Tom Spence officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Blue was born in Cumberland County on April 29, 1924, to the late Wade T. and Laura Phillips Saunders. She was a lifelong member of Galatia Presbyterian Church. Her husband, James Franklin Blue J. preceded her in death.

Survivors include five sons, Ted Molchan and his wife, Wanda, of Coats, NC, George T. Blue and his wife, Lana, of Raeford, NC, Don Blue and his wife, Wanda, of Charlotte, NC, Henry Blue and his wife, Joan, of Myrtle Beach, SC, and David Blue and his wife, Laura, of Fredericksburg, Va.; one daughter, Sherry Blue Carter and her husband, Dewayne, of Rockwood, Tn.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
