Mr. Collins Locklear, 66, of 1427 Blue Road, Parkton, NC, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009, in Carrol S. Roberson Hospice Center in Fayetteville, NC.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2009, at Crumpler Funeral Home, 220 East Fourth Ave., Red Springs, NC, and at other times at the homes of Patricia Locklear, 1427 Blue Road, Parkton, or Vera Parish, 287 Goose Pond Road, Red Springs.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, May 22, 2009, at Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel in Red Springs with Revs. Greg Locklear and William Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Elim Baptist Church Cemetery in Red Springs.

Mr. Locklear was born in Hoke County on October 5, 1942, to the late Carlie Locklear and Strodie Maynor Locklear. A sister, Lillian Williams and two brothers, Thurman Locklear and Hoover Locklear preceded him in death. Mr. Locklear attended Fayetteville Community Church and was retired from Ft. Bragg after 20 years of service as a painter.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia S. Locklear of Parkton, NC; a son, Troy W. Locklear of Parkton; a daughter, Michelle D. Locklear of Parkton; two brothers, Herman Locklear of Chesapeake, Va., and Harmon Locklear and his wife, Flora, both of Norfolk, Va.; a sister, Vera L. Parish of Red Springs; and three grandchildren, Meghan Chisholm and her husband, Roddy, of Manhattan, NY, Troy Locklear Jr. of Fayetteville, and Colby Locklear of Fayetteville.
