Turnmire Teaching Fellow finalist

Jordan Dakota Turnmire has been selected as a 2010 Regional Finalist for the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Program. Established in 1986, the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Program is the most ambitious teacher recruitment program in the nation.

Jordan is a senior at Red Springs High School where he is a member of NASA, AISES and school statistician for football, basketball and baseball teams.

He is also active is his church youth group and a member of the Boy Scout Troop 416 in Red Springs.

Jordan is also a student in the Upward Bound program at UNC-Pembroke and will be completing the “Bridge” portion this summer. His plans after graduation are to attend UNC-Pembroke, ECU or the University of Miami and pursue a degree in Math Education.

His proud parents are Valerie O Turnmire of Maxton and Dayton Turnmire, Jr. of Greensboro, NC.
