Beginning Thursday, August 12th, the LREMC Cares Program of Lumbee River EMC is distributing fans to qualified members to help them during these continued hot summer temperatures. This program is in conjunction with the LREMC Cares Energy Assistance Program that provides energy assistance to members who may be struggling with their power bills. A member is qualified to receive a fan if they are over the age of 60 and the utility bill is in their name. The limited number of fans will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. To receive a fan, a member must bring valid identification that shows proof of age.
In three of the counties Lumbee River EMC serves, the same agencies that help with the energy assistance program will be distributing fans. They are:
Cumberland County -Fayetteville Urban Ministries; Robeson County - Robeson County Church and Community Center; Scotland County - Scotland County Community Services.
In Hoke County, fan distribution will take place on Thursday, August 12th beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Lumbee River EMC office located at 103 North Dickson Street in Raeford.
